Woodward County Jail Overview
Woodward County Jail is operated by the Woodward County Sheriff's Office. The official sheriff page names Sheriff Keith Frutiger as sheriff and identifies Jarred Garrett as Jail Administrator. The jail and sheriff's office are listed at 1600 Main Street, Suite 1, Woodward, OK 73801. The jail phone is 580-256-3264 ext. 2; sheriff administration is ext. 3; dispatch is ext. 1.
The facility serves as the county jail for people arrested in Woodward County, including pretrial detainees, county-sentenced inmates, and people awaiting release, court action, or transfer to another custody level. The sheriff's page says the office serves Woodward County and surrounding areas including Sharon-Mutual, Quinlan, Tangier, Cedardale, and Fort Supply. City of Woodward arrests can also lead to county jail booking when local custody is used.
The official Woodward County Jail page publishes policy links and the jail phone number.
Those policy links are the main official web source because no public jail roster was located on the county site.
Woodward County Jail Population
The county's official jail pages do not publish the current rated capacity, live population count, pod or housing-unit breakdown, current average daily population, or a daily booking dashboard. The research file located a historical average daily population of 104 for Woodward County Jail from Prisoners of the Census/BJS Census of Jail Facilities data for calendar year 2013. That figure is dated historical context, not a current census.
Because current capacity and population were not found in official sources, avoid claims that Woodward County Jail is over capacity or under capacity today. Oklahoma State Department of Health jail standards and inspections provide the conditions framework, but they do not supply a live Woodward County Jail census in the research file.
Lookup Woodward County Jail Inmates
A Woodward County Jail lookup is a fallback-chain process. The official county source set did not contain an online current-inmate roster or booking search. Start with the jail phone line for current custody. If the question is a record request, use the sheriff's office email or in-person counter. If the question is a filed criminal case, use OSCN or ODCR instead of the jail policy pages.
- Call Woodward County Jail at 580-256-3264 ext. 2 for current local custody.
- Give full legal name, middle name if known, date of birth or age, arrest date, and arresting agency.
- For booking records, jail logs, release status, bond status, or booking photos, ask about the sheriff records-request route.
- Search OSCN or ODCR for Woodward County District Court charges, warrants, hearings, and bond entries.
- If the person was sentenced or transferred, search ODOC, BOP, ICE, or VINE based on the custody type.
Lookup limit: Woodward County Jail custody is local and current; sentenced state prisoners belong in the ODOC locator.
Woodward County Jail Contact
The jail and sheriff share the county office address. Use the jail extension for current custody and jail operations, the administrative extension for sheriff records-process questions, and dispatch for non-emergency law-enforcement routing. Written requests can use the sheriff email found in the official sheriff contact block.

Dress-code violations, security issues, or active warrants can cause a visit to be denied, canceled, or ended.

Woodward County Jail Mail
Mail must be addressed to the inmate's full name, including middle name, at Woodward County Jail, 1600 Main Street, Suite 1, Woodward, OK 73801. The official jail mail page says inmate mail is received and delivered Monday through Friday except holidays. Envelopes can be rejected and returned if the outside of the envelope contains writing or drawings beyond the addressee and return names and addresses.
The official inmate-mail page shows the address format and rejection rule.
Use the exact name and address format because mail handling is tied to jail identification and routing.

Woodward County Jail Money
The jail commissary is managed by Woodward County Jail personnel. Money found on a person at arrest opens a commissary account in that person's name. Family or friends may deposit money by money order or cashier's check only, with the full inmate name, during 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. business hours. Cash, personal checks, and traveler's checks are not accepted for those deposits.
The official telephone-services page explains collect calls and the 15-minute call limit.
Phones and commissary funds are separate from court bond, fines, and costs.

| Purchase cap | Maximum $40 per commissary purchase period. |

| Phone calls | Collect-call housing-unit phones; outside calling cards cannot be used; calls shut off after 15 minutes. |
Woodward County Jail Booking
Woodward County's official pages do not publish a step-by-step booking manual. The available rules still show the intake framework: local arrest, transport to the jail if county booking is used, search and property handling, booking record creation, medical or security screening under Oklahoma jail standards, housing placement, phone access, and court or bond processing. Money found at arrest becomes the inmate's commissary account.
Formal court charges may appear after the booking and may differ from the arresting officer's initial label. OSCN and ODCR should be searched for charges, bond findings, warrants, court dates, and disposition. For City of Woodward municipal citations or municipal warrants, the city municipal court route may apply.
About Woodward County Jail
Woodward County Jail's official web presence is policy-heavy rather than roster-heavy. It publishes visitation, special visitation, removed-visitor procedures, dress code, inmate mail, telephone services, allowed inmate property, and commissary rules. It does not publish a current facility photo page, live roster, booking report, current population dashboard, or rated bed count in the research file.
Oklahoma jail standards provide the broader facility-conditions framework. OSDH standards address admission and release, security, sanitation, diet, clothing and living area, staff training, safety and segregation of women, the infirm, and minors, medical care, supervision, emergency exits, and inmate education of facility rules.
Note: Confirm custody and visitation with Woodward County Jail before travel, because online county pages do not show a live roster.
